California's Earthquake Brace and Bolt Program

Were you aware that the State of California offers a grant up to $3,000 to retrofit your home for earthquake safety? You need to go onto their website and create an account. Based on your zip code, your home may get selected for the grant.

I actually applied for the Earthquake Brace & Bolt (EBB) grant late last year (September 2021) and was selected for the grant of $3,000 in August 2022. I found a contractor that agreed to be paid directly by the State program and they did all of the legwork (paperwork, permit, pictures, meeting inspectors, etc.), and EBB paid them directly after the retrofit work was completed. It was a very seamless process.
